......... to a friend at work who has just landed himself a part as an extra, in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and is now auditioning for a speaking part.

He asked me how to speak in a UK accent that was neither cockney or posh.  So I tried to get him to speak in a west country accent, he looked totally bemused!!!
