Train Holiday

We took a train holiday today.

Boarding the Amtrak “Cascades” train at 5:30am in Eugene, we were delivered to Portland, Oregon at 8:05am.

The area around the Union Train Station is old town Portland that is newly refurbished with lots of new buildings and businesses.

Coffees and croissants and a lazy morning walk around the stylin’ urban neighborhoods was an unusual treat.

Riding the “MAX” light rail trains out and about all day was really great fun and scratched the adventure itch nicely.

Back in downtown Portland once again with plenty of time before our train back to Eugene at 6pm. allowed us to do a river walk on the bank of the Willamette River.

Another ride in the delightful “Cascades” Talgo 8 train brought us safely home again at 9pm.
