University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital

I really like this building.  It's completely eco friendly and you can see in this shot the grass on the roof.  The interior is beautiful too, lit by the natural light from what I think is described by the architect as a "faceted cupola".  The treatment rooms far excede any NHS hospitals I have visited, and I have to say as does the treatment received.

Last year (2009), the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) gave Archial Architects’ Small Animal Hospital the Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award.  You can read about the award and a description of the building here

Please excuse the damp blob, it was chucking it down while Breesha and I were out this morning.
