Pier into the distance

(Back Blip)

After a lazy morning, my mum and dad took L and me on a drive towards Greenock.  There's still quite a bit of snow around but luckily not on the roads.  The sky was light grey, the hills were snow-covered and the water reflected those, so there was very little differentiation between any of them.

We stopped at West Ferry for a view of Dumbarton Rock and then went on to Newark Castle, Port Glasgow, where this pier sits, disappearing off into the whiteness.  There is a gate and sign at the beginning of it telling people to keep off, but apparently there are still always adults and children fishing off the end of it.  Presumably more often on days when it's above freezing.
