Noise Abatement

Finally got to the Warburton Gallery today. Lovely little space with a nice dome (though some of it is flaking a bit and could do with some TLC). Pity there were a couple of kids running round and round the top gallery, shouting at the top of their lungs, with two ridiculously stereotypical Edinburgh mummies nattering away, (very) occasionally saying 'shhh' half-heartedly, with the kids having paid no attention whatsoever, then joining in with the running about. A day of noise, with a completely obnoxious 'gentleman' in Blackfriars bellowing out his wonderful tales of how amazing he is to his lunch guests (it was a relief when either of them got a word in edgeways as the volume in the room lowered considerably, I'm just glad we weren't sitting right next to them) - seeing him at the end of the meal (I had my back to him, and Mel's view was blocked by a pillar) he was lounging back in his seat, displaying his ample spare (4x4esque) tyre as a trophy, all ruddy cheeked and superior. Couple of gins in Summerhall, hiding from the rain, were much more relaxed...
