Goodbye, IHOP!

Last day of holiday today, so of course we had to have one last breakfast at IHOP.

We had a few dramas at the airport - despite flying out with our cases half empty, both of our cases were over the weight allowance. Thankfully the boys' cases still had a bit of leeway, so after a quick shuffle about of some stuff we were on our way. The next bit of drama was just as they were about to board the flight - just before the first group were to board, they announced over the PA that the flight would be delayed by 2 hours. Given that we only had an hour and twenty minutes between connecting flights, we had a mild panic that we'd be stranded in airports overnight with two tried & bored kids. Thankfully, as we were queuing at the desk to find out what was happening, the lady announced over the PA that the plane was fine, and that they would begin reboarding immediately and try to take off as fast as possible. Thankfully there was also a tailwind, so we managed to make the connecting flight at Newark just as they had began boarding. With the relatively small gap between flights, we resigned ourselves to perhaps not seeing our cases at Edinburgh, but thankfully there were some of the first out - result!
