Oystercatcher chick

Interesting birds. The parents of this wee one seemed to treat me as a predator. As I approached the chick's would stay at the edge of the water while it's parents tried to lead me away. One of them even flopped on the ground and looked as if it was injured. It was a pretty convincing performance.
Nature is so intriguing! You need not open a book or use a computer to learn. Your feet and eyes are far superior.
