You cannot escape my clutches.

Along the shoreline just ten minutes from the village centre you come to a rather special nature reserve. It is owned by the Cumbria Wildlife Trust.

There is a meadow near to the shore and a substantial area of ancient woodland. This is a place full of yew trees, ferns and mosses.

The entrance is not too easy to find, the result being that few people ever go there. It is one of Knottman's favourite places and he can often be found looking for photos like the one above of which there are many.
