Lean on me

Hippos are what St Lucia is renowned for. During the hot summer days the breeding pods will generally be found sleeping in the waters of the estuary  to avoid the sun and the attentions of hippos flies (think horse flies but much more feisty!) After dark they emerge to spend the night eating grass and are often to be seen wandering through the streets of the town.
