Blue Skies and Weathervanes.

This unusual weathervane commemorates William Cowper and can be found in the market square Olney, Buckinghamshire.
William Cowper (pronounced "Cooper") (1731-1800) was the leading poet of his day, and one of the greatest letter writers in English.
The quill and ink pot are obviously connected with his writing but I don't know the significance of the hares.
