Conal, Gill and Rob meet!

Conal and Max have the same Father but different Mothers, although Gill and Rob did see Conal when he was about 1 essentially this was their first meeting, it was lovely!
We had a wonderful lunch together and I asked Gill and Rob to share some wartime memories, Zeb is studying WW2 at the moment, they were both very young but they both remember the gas masks, sirens and planes, Rob was living in Wimbledon and his family went to live in Burgess Hill with the Grandparents to escape London, he remembers the indoor shelter too.  Gill was living in Switzerland and remembers flying home with the family just before War broke out and having to fly very low over the channel and them all being airsick in brown paper bags!  Gill's family were in the country and didn't have a shelter but did huddle under the kitchen table a few times and her Mother covered their faces in their beds to protect from broken glass but thankfully that never happened.
They both remember the rationing and how long it went on for after the war and also the sense of community and commeraderie that the circumstances inspired.
