Veules or Verwood?

Could be Hants or Dorset, but the R. Veules is France's shortest river at 1.194km (¾ mile). You can walk along its banks almost its whole length and still not leave the town. Cress is grown along its earliest stretches and at the height of the town's prosperity there were 13 water mills, 7 of which survive, not all in working order tho'.
