Toots in Solitude

Once again...

...the Bass Rock.
What a beautiful day after so much rain of the past few days.
Donald Luke and I enjoyed a walk on the secret path to Tantallon and the lads climbed over rocks that stood in the tides that were as close to the land that they could reach.
I could never have scrambled over them myself so I stayed on the wonderful beach and listened as the sea moved the pebbles with a very satisfying sound and gannets and gulls swooped around with swift dexterity and grace. The banks were covered with the delicate yellow primroses, the vivid oranges of the wild wallflowers and the colourful pinks of the red campion.
