St Margaret's, Rainham

We went to the funeral today of an orienteering friend who was six months younger than me. He had non-Hodgkin lymphoma which  is considered very treatable. He had been receiving treatment for over a year and we all thought he was getting better. He died very suddenly on 4 January.

This is an extract from the first hymn that had me in tears.

When through the woods and forest glades I wander,
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze

Rest in Peace Nick Hope- Kind man, generous with his time, former Chairman of Saxons Orienteering Club.  His spirit will wander with us in the forests of Kent.
