My new best friends

My hitherto unknown kidney stones made an appearance today. Cue excruciating agony and a visit from the doctor, who said they're as painful as childbirth.

Not having given birth, I don't feel I'm in a position to compare - but if it is, I've established I'm no earth mother; I want drugs, lots of them and hold the birthing pool.

For now my best friends are Diclofenac and a hot water bottle. And deep breathing. Lots of deep breathing...
