Garden visitor

Busy day in the garden. Distributed all the bags of compost I bought yesterday and planted my new lavender bushes etc.
Was going down into this back corner to clear up some rubbish and spied this little guy feeding on a fallen apple. Couldn't get all that close or he just buried his head.
My poor apple tree, the apples are only half grown and the birds are demolishing them. Can't see me getting many to bottle this year.
