A visit from Sharon

This morning Sharon came to visit - all the way from Perth, Australia. (Well not directly, she arrived in the UK on Sunday). There were six of us at the coffee morning, and all our boys used to be together at the same prep school. We had a lovely catch up over coffee and cake, and we enjoyed hearing how the boys have developed over the years. All our boys are now in their final year at school (except her son who has just finished school) and it was interesting to hear their university plans - doctors, engineers, scientists, mathematicians, musicians - who would ever have thought that this is where they would be, thinking back to those little boys running around with a football when they still wore shorts and had knobbly knees.

Very strange weather today - sunshine, rain, and even a few minutes of snow showers before the sun came out again. It is going to get much colder again from tomorrow.
