Where Are The Gritters?

This is the scene on the A723 when hundreds of cars were stuck due to ice on the road surface, some motorists gave up and pulled into the side creating additional problems for drivers behind.

South Lanarkshire gritters were nowhere to be seen. Hundreds of people were late for their tea.

If roads cannot be kept open with this minimal weather what chance when it gets really bad.

This is the second time in as many weeks that I have struggled on this road.

South Lanarkshire Council say all roads have been gritted according to their programme!

Time to change the programme or give others the opportunity.
