Mouldy chestnut and microscopes

This needs a bit of backstory. The rest of my family are natural painters and drawers. I have a science background and pretty much can't draw for toffee. So, my wife has always helped our son much more with his art.

Now he has a project to complete from college about change and decay, and found that the chestnuts we got from a shop were mouldy on the inside. So he asked to use my microscopes to see the structure of a mould surface and individual spores.

We was very impressed.
