Elegant pest

Along with their cousins, the milkweed locusts, these elegant grasshoppers are capable of causing huge damage to crops. Various members of the family also emit a variety of noxious substances which are harmful to humans and livestock. That aside they do of course look amazing - it's just a pity that I left the macro lens at home on this particular day!
