Day at a Time

Dawn at Arthur's Seat ...

Staying in town last night was a treat for many reasons. One was that, instead of getting on a train in Stirling to trundle into Edinburgh, I was able to walk from my friend's flat in Bruntsfield to the city centre. The walk over the meadows http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/directory_record/164120/meadows as the sun was rising was great.

This isn't the best photo I've taken today but who knows when I'll see this view in this weather again. You can see the hill known as Arthur's Seat in the background. Formed of an extinct volcano it presides over the Scottish Parliament building and the Queen's Park. You can read about it here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur%27s_Seat. My maternal grandfather's name was Arthur so as you can imagine I used to think the hill was named for him.

Happy weekend everyone!
