Varkala - yoga on the beach

Varkala - after travelling quite a few places and on local transport where we were the only foreigners it is a bit of a shock to find ourselves in Varkala, full of foreigners. Varkala was once (fishing I think) village lining red cliffs overlooking a lovely beach. 
Now the cliff is lined with little tin shacks containing trendy open air cafes-restaurants, stores of Indian clothes, Ayurvedic treatments and behind the shacks, more substantial resorts and guesthouses all vying for the sea view. The place seems quite full.
