Herculaeneum

We visited this site near Pompeii which was also devastated by the eruption of Vesuvius. It is on a much smaller scale to Pompeii but perhaps most appealing. It is amazingly well preserved with many examples of mosaics and wall murals. I was drawn to the roofs with their different  shapes, colours and angles.
