Midtown

This, to me, is and forever will be New York. I spent a little time here as a kid while my grandfather was alive  (he lived on the Upper West Side), when  the Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world. I recall thinking years later, while traversing the Hudson River from Staten Island to Manhattan on the ferry, and seeing the construction of the World Trade Center  (one tower was complete, the other about two-thirds finished), that those buildings didn't belong there.
