If you can't beat them...

Cross Fell

A busy day taking things to the charity shops and returning equipment to FredaH's care home.  After the necessary parts of the day we decided to take a run into the Eden valley for a change of scene.

For a change we were looking at the Pennines rather than the Lake District Fells.  Our first stop was near Langwathby  where I got this shot of Cross Fell.

Cross Fell is the highest point in England outside the Lake District, at 893 metres (2,930 ft).  As you can see the summit is very much a plateau.

After that stop we headed along the valley towards Great Salkeld, ending up at Plumpton where we scrounged a cup of tea from "The Mate" before heading home just in time to prepare the evening meal.

All in all a pleasant and successful day.
