Net Working

The Shetland heatwave continues.

On previous stays on Shetland I've visited Mousa at night to see (and hear) the storm petrels, but I've never managed to visit the island in daylight. In the past attempts to visit have been foiled by the weather - no danger of that today, the warm, still weather continues.

The Mousa boat leaves from Aith Voe - and on the adjacent pier there was lots of net mending underway.

Mousa is worth visiting in either darkness or daylight - lots of good bird life to be seen including eider, arctic skua, arctic terns, bonxies and red-throated divers, and the fantastic 2000 year old broch.
