Hectic Saigon

We moved from the central coast down to bustling and heaving Saigon yesterday - and were initially all a bit shell shocked by the sheer business of the city.
Things settled down once we learnt how to cross the road - no you don't wait for a break in the traffic or a green man (imagine). You simply step out into the road, while possibly giving a lethargic wave of the arm to the oncoming motorcyclists, ostensibly so that they see you and drive around rather than through you.

Once we'd conquered this we managed to enjoy what the city had to offer. The war museums were absolutely fascinating and explained a lot more about the Vietnamese war than I had ever known before. We also enjoyed motorcycle tours of the city with a local to discover some of the street eateries, where we sampled crab, mussels, clams, shrimp, chicken legs, sea snails and octopus. Mostly enjoyable all round.
It was hard to capture the business of the place but this gives a bit of an idea..

* I found it incredibly difficult to choose which photo to upload for every day here - there was so much to see and do on each day! Any recommendations for websites where I can put up more than one photo a day? I tried flickr but don't seem to be able to sign up there without a yahoo account..?
