The World Through My Eyes

The Tree....

of Man...

This tree is about 160 years old and could grow as tall as he is now because he is on the corner of a field or because they wanted to make heavy oak beams of it. A special feature is that he is standing with half of its roots in dry soil and with the  other half in wet soil. As a result of this, the root system is unequally developed. Around the year 1973/1974 the tree is blown down in an autumnal storm (NE wind) and is set up straight again with a heavy duty crane. The cables that are attached at the tree, are kept slack so the tree itself is looking for anchoring his roots again. If they are too tight, the tree becomes lazy and shall fall over again...
