Just sniffing the air

Don't know what gave rise to this sniffing session.

Spent part of the morning outside as it was beautiful sunshine, doing little jobs and encouraging Hector to be a little more active. Recently after breakfast he'd take himself off to the sofa for a little nap. Well, young dogs ought to be up and doing! So he did, on starling and pigeon patrol, to the point where he was barking so much, J, my next door neighbour popped her head up over the fence to see what was bothering him. Even when we went inside, he was still revved up. So whenever I opened the kitchen door, he'd leap over the step, barking, all guns blazing! Bounce, bounce, bounce, bark, bark, bark!
He ended up watching the starlings on the roof next door and in their tree.
Perhaps I should have let him nap.
