Life Savors

I just can't seem to get enough of these Floridian birds that seem so exotic and unusual to me and yet they are so common here. Where ever we walk we come across them in abundance.

We are in the lake country of Florida until tomorrow, when we will head over to St. Petersburg Beach for the rest of the week. We took a late afternoon walk/run (I walk, husband runs) around Lake Marie where I came across this very interesting fellow. Earlier we visited the gorgeous campus of Florida Southern University where our grandson attends. The idyllic campus is located on Lake Hollingsworth, in Lakeland. It is notable for the older buildings and covered walkways that were all designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Now we are settling in for the Super Bowl which is an especially big deal in #2 son's house because he has been a New England Patriots fan since he was a little boy. Go Pats!
