Unexpected . . . orchid !

Many, many, many years ago, my sister and her husband, driving around the island, bought some unpotted orchids being sold at roadside.  The owner didn't know what the flower looked like - and didn't care - he was getting rid of it.  So, I have been pleasantly surprised when these appear, year after year, on a long stalk, with minimal human intervention.  Somehow they are always unexpected!
