Beirut's Bachoura Municipal Public Library

A man sits in the Bachoura branch of Beirut’s municipal library network, reading the paper. Many library patrons who come in the mornings are retirees who like to read the array of available newspapers. My article for Al-Monitor addresses the obstacles and accomplishments of ASSABIL, the NGO that manages Beirut’s municipal library network.
