Hanging by a shoestring

I pass these shoes quite often. They are really high up and have been there for a long time. I can't help wondering how they got up there. I suppose it's something to think about while I'm waiting for the lights to change. By the way, I didn't take this photo (as I was driving). I was the director and Isaac the photographer today.
