Chilly chillies

We've had (north) east facing kitchens for the last few years. Today was the first day this year that I noticed direct sunlight through the window - a pleasant surprise, as it seemed an earlier-than-usual sign that we're nearing the end of our crepuscular winter existence.

(The chilli plants are a shadow of their former selves since a severe November prune).
