Gasparilla 2015

Every year for the past century, Tampa has hosted a gigantic festival celebrating a (probably) mythical pirate, Jose Gaspar. The festival, called Gasparilla, begins with an enormous ship and tons of smaller boats manned by "pirates" sail into Tampa, demand the keys to the city from a mayor, and go on a "victory parade" down the streets. My favorite part has always been the invasion itself, watching hundreds of boats and collecting beads thrown to the shore. This year was no exception.
