Hội An full moon lantern festival

By chance I arrived in Hội An for the full moon, when they celebrate with floating lanterns down the river.

Getting off the night bus, I met two couples and together we searched for accommodation and had breakfast. We found a nice homestay and had a relaxing day before going to check out the festival. We bought a lantern each and took a boat down the river. We then stopped to have cao lầu, a local noodle dish.

We also took part in a local game which was like a cross-between a piñata and pinning the tail on the donkey. You were blindfolded and had to smash a clay pot. Apparently I missed by an inch.
