The heart of home

Bitterly cold in Kent where I started my day, and equally cold in Essex where I ended it.  Woke to a dusting of snow covering Jean's garden, but by the time we got to Chelmsford, it was gone.  Lunch at the Fox and Raven whose roaring open fire was a most welcome sight, as was their Brakspear Ale.

Gareth (bro) came for the evening, much talk amongst dinner and Adnams Ale about Dad's estate, the house and contents, our home and our future plans and such stuff so I was glad when at midnight he decided to sleep over as by then I don't think either of us wanted the opportunity to become maudlin by being alone.
