Hare spotting

We had our glorious circular walk round the outskirts of the village today with beautiful clear views up to the Bowland Fells. We bumped into quite a few people too and ended taking double the time we usually manage to walk it.
There were a couple of buzzards overhead and a flock of over a dozen lapwings. Over the last three decades the number of lapwings has dwindled considerably, so was pleased to see this number.
The highlight of our walk today was the number of hares in the fields. Hector spotted his v first hare today - gone tomorrow - flushing these two from their grazing. He crept through a gate to see them.
