The Edge of the Wold

Cheeky

Rowan is rare in his appearances here compared to Gus.  Yet, most lunchtimes they are following their respective ball-chasing and herding routines as we walk to the top of the Helm.

Rowan can do something Gus can't, he's very adept at climbing dry stone walls.  Here he is with the snowy Lake District fells in the background on top of the Helm's summit wall.  Really, we shouldn't encourage this behaviour, the ball bounced over the wall accidentally and he followed it.  Honestly, that's what happened.

Sue compares Rowan and Gus to two young lads in a classroom.  Rowan is the naughty boy who sits at the back and doesn't do his homework.  Gus is teacher's favourite, a good student who sits at the front and gets hit on the head by balls of rolled up paper thrown by Rowan.  But out of class they are good pals, Gus is the faster athlete, but Rowan has the better eye to ball coordination.  Lunch hours are great fun for us humans too.
