Remnants of crofting

A common sight in the Highlands, amongst the ruined cottages where a lot more people used to live and work. The population was nearly 2000 in the late 19th century, now it's less than 250.

This plough, though, belongs to a household bucking the trend towards depopulation: the owner has returned to her home patch, built a new house and has started a B&B business.
(Her father probably used this plough as a young man).
