Let there be light.

I was wondering what to blip today, when i glanced over to our mantlepiece and saw  this Miners lamp ,that was given to me many years ago. The inscription reads, The Protector Lamp & Lighting Co Ltd,   - Eccles. - It is a type 6  M & Q. Safety Lamp This Miners lamp actually works, and i expect it could tell many a story of hardship and camaraderie, between the miners. The flame is ignited  by a flint off a wheel and ratchet mechanism, built into  the lamp.
