Quintessentially English

Walking today from Chagford - a quintessentially Devon village, tranquil, almost untouched by the modern world, except for the high property prices, celebrity residents, and the battered copy of Charlie Hebdo for sale on the rack outside the local shop, also selling home made honey. The hardware shop is like the Tardis, and goes on forever, stocking everything a farmer and celebrity might require. Bought a whistle.
