Heron

Woke to a nice sunny morning so had breakfast and went over to the garrison.  Lots of photographers again but I went in the opposite direction and saw and took photos of quite a few birds, including two wrens which I love.  Although the sun was out it was cold so I kept walking but I spied this heron and tried to see a way to get near to it. Unfortunately this was as near as I could get and couldn't get a clear shot but not a bird I normally see.  Out for over two hours, had a coffee and then decided to do some gardening, finally came in at 2.30!  Had a couple of friends round for tea and scone/cake and lots of chat.  Nice finish to the weekend.
