5th Avenue on 27th January

This photo was not taken today but I have only just been sent it by one of the students who was on the NYC field-trip. There was a big snowstorm overnight 26th/ 27th January (although nothing like as bad as was feared). NYC had maybe 12 inches of snow and there was a curfew on vehicles (except emergency vehicles) from 2300 on 26th until it was lifted at about 1000 on 27th. This photo is of 5th Avenue at about 32nd Street just close to our hotel, early on 27th January. 5th Avenue with no cars and people walking in the road - almost unsettling!
