The Martians Are Here!!!

Ok, so I feel more than a bit silly admitting this, but I still recall the first time I ever saw the Menzieshill Water Tower.  I was pretty young (around 9yrs old) and was quite fond of watching sci-fi and b-movies on tv with my dad, so imagine the fear when I first caught a glimpse of this beast standing on top of the hill.   It reminded me of something out of War Of The Worlds!

Even now, my heart still skips a beat when I see it.

Today I decided to visit it for the very first time....surrounded by a big metal fence and covered in graffiti it didn't seem quite so terrifying!  

Let the ridicule commence!
