When our new Canadian pal told us he was going to see some waterfalls we decided to abandon our plans of exploring Sucre and go with him instead. None of the taxi drivers seemed to want to venture all the way out to the 7 Cascades but eventually we convinced one of them with 100 bolivianos. Miles into the Bolivian countryside, even though we knew we were near the falls, it was pretty clear that our driver wasn't sure exactly how to get to them. Rather than sit in the taxi any longer, we decided to follow the locals' walking directions instead. Scaling hills and rocks in dresses and Birkenstock wasn't exactly ideal but eventually we found the falls and lots of locals chilling. A really nice taxi driver we met along the way even got his first aid kit out to disinfect a cut I got on my leg. Swimming, sunbathing and some of the best mango I've ever eaten made for one of the nicest days we've had in Bolivia. We met some local kids who walked back with us, and this is jos posing with one of them (taken on my iPod hence the terrible quality). Dinner at the veggie restaurant down the road was well earned after our countryside trekking. Spanish school tomorrow!
