Homard à la crème

It was S's birthday today. So the flowers did double duty :) Yes, we'd have liked to get married on his birthday, but it was a Sunday that year, so we couldn't.

One of the nice things about being self-employed is that you can skip off work without asking. So we spent most of the afternoon at the local spa. Pool, hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, lounger, rinse and repeat. Bliss!

I cooked the birthday dinner. Menu:
Starter: petits fours salés (merci M. Picard!). Served with a glass (or two) of Viognier.
Main course: lobster in cream sauce, served with a glass of white Toques et Clochers from Limoux.
Cheese: Reblochon and Torta de dolcelatte
Dessert: Panna cotta with cherry compote.

Total time spent actually cooking: about 20 minutes. The effort versus results score was excellent!
