Marking the Years

Another day older and none the wiser ... in this case another year.

A day of warm sunshine so it was a treat to take a step back in time and walk in ancient woodland at Ashwellthorpe. Ancient woodlands are often home to a good display of bluebells at this time of year but today it was the early purple orchids that stole the show, hundreds of them, making a splash of pink to rival the bluebell blue.
