Downstream

Yesterday I mentioned one of my long term photography projects. Today its the turn of another - portrait of a river. I've been documenting a stretch of the Sussex Ouse about a mile long. There are lots of possibilities here, north bank and south bank, upstream and down, high tide and low. The mood of the river changes with the weather and the light. A few weeks ago the water was rushing down the channel and overflowing the banks. Now its slow moving and sunken into the channel. In fact its so low that here and there you can see iron rich fresh water springs that feed directly into the river, staining the river mud orange.
