Getting down(load) and up-to-date

Yesterday we completed a massive task - and it’s one that our members can take advantage of right away!

It’s taken quite some time, but over the past couple of months our boffins have been transferring terabytes of data (which is way more info than we can even try to imagine) from one point to another.

Why? Well, all our images and words have been successfully moved to our shiny new data centre. And now that everything’s in place, it means one of our Membership features can return in full too. As a member you can download all of your individual images at the full resolution that they were uploaded to Blip. (To do this, just click the “More Info” button on your Blip, then the “download” link.)

But rather than celebrate a successful transfer, the boffins are already working on a whole load of other big jobs. Statistics being one of them. They are beavering away (see the photo above), and the Stats pages are taking shape nicely. In fact, they are looking great, and we can’t wait to share more soon.

There have been a pile of other ‘fixes’ introduced to the site over the past couple of weeks too, including the view count now returning all views (both signed in and signed-out). Of course, the iPhone App was launched two weeks ago, while we’re also continuing to re-address the display size of images across different screens. Another big task we’re concentrating on is the return of the shop. We’ll keep you up-to-date with improvements, introductions and reintroductions as they are available.

We hope the week’s treating you nicely so far.
